Changes in Australian legislation - likely to outlaw shunning in the future?

For the most part physical abuse can be seen and identified by almost anyone but emotional abuse is not as easily detected; who will be qualified to examine the new claims?

Under the new definition will they pick and choose who gets exposed, investigated or prosecuted?

Will they act only on small individual cases while giving large groups and high control (religious) factions a free pass once again?

These types of laws are a step in the right direction but they unfortunately are not fully enforceable and are littered with loopholes that an abusive person, group or entity can, with the help of a crafty attorney, slide through or go undetected.

All large corporations have a clean up crew of attorneys whose sole purpose is to resolve things like this as quickly and quietly as possible.

The WTBT$ is no different, they've probably already got a good lie in the wings and their legal team in full action; I’d be surprised if we hear any more about this and I’ll be shocked if the R&F find out at all.

Wills. Some advise

my parents are now reaching their 80's and have a substantial portfolio.

although i've never actually seen their will, they've mentioned that they may be leaving quite a large sum (roughly 25%) of their estate to the watchtower corp. my questions are.

a. once the money is sent, if requested back by one of the children is there any way to get the money back from the corp?.

Be aware that an irrevocable trust or living trust means if you are getting anything and you try to fight it you automatically lose your share and it's over to the remaining parties.

So if you try to fight they may get more, or all, of it.
